Free Cultural Show in Hawaii

Vacations cost a LOT! We try to take advantage of the FREE as much as we can.  The Polynesian Cultural Show at the Shopes at Mauna Lani is one of the best free things the island has to offer. The shows are performed by  Te `E`a O Te Turama, such a talented group of performers!

The fire dancing was a treat to see! Check the website to see the times and days they perform. They really put on a great show, and I’ve heard that the show rivals some of the big resort shows, which can be quite expensive! Of course being, free, food is not included (it’s a show, not a luau) but, there are restaurants on site to dine in. We chose to get some prepared food at Foodland Farms which is located directly behind the stage. They have fantastic fresh Hawaiian Poke and island baked goods. I recommend getting to the show early to make sure you have a good seat in the amphitheater. There was a table for free lei or flower crown making workshop before the show (they can only accommodate so many) so if you want to do this, be sure to grab a spot.

This show was on par with major luau productions we saw on other islands! The lei making was a fun way to pass the time while one of us saved seats. Thanks for the recommendation!
